What we Offer
01.Full membership
Full membership gives access to all galas (mornings and evenings), leagues and competitions, and club fiendlies, as well as entitlement to book available rinks whenever the club is open. All bowls members have access to extensive free parking, changing facilities, toilets, the bar and plentiful seating areas. in addition, bowls club members become members of the Pétanque club by default, should they wish to participate.
02.Casual membership
Casual membership gives access to evening galas, where players are assigned into teams on an allotted rink. All bowls members have access to extensive free parking, changing facilities, toilets, the bar and plentiful seating areas. in addition, bowls club members become members of the Pétanque club by default, should they wish to participate.
03.Fees
Indoor bowls rink fees are £5.00 for approximately 2 hours, bsed upon 12 ends taking 2 hours and 10 minutes. Bowls/woods, in a variety of weights and sizes, can be provided free of charge. Pétanque fees are £1.00 per session, and all eqipment can be provide (Balls/Boules in a variety of weights and sizes. cochonnet, measures, and throwing circles.)
04.Morning Galas
With a full membership you have access to the 2 morning galas, currently running from 10:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays
05.Evening Galas
With a casual membership of £35, you can have access to our casual evening galas, where you are assigned a rink and team when you arrive. Standard £5 rink fee applies.
06.Bowls for Health
Our Bowls for health programme is a free 6 week course, where a coach will guide you through the fundamentals of the game covering: basic technique (grip, stance, delivery etc); tactics; rules and etiquette.
07.Pétanque
There is a league on Monday evenings at 18:00, otherwise the terrain can be used anytime the club is iopen.
08.Pétanque for Health
We offer 3 weeks free; introduction to pétanque. We cover a brief history of the game, how to hold and throw the boule for both positions, pointing and shooting. And the basic skills and rules knowledge needed to participate.
09.EIBA competitions
Avon Valley enter teams into the EIBA competitions such as the Denny and the Mason as well as the Yetton, Liberty, Vivienne and the over 60s each year. We have entered some very strong teams with the women in the Yetton Plate doing particularly well last year finishing Runners Up.
